“Think ambient guitars, grabby melodies and poignant lyrics…this mature modern rock band shone on last year’s eponymous debut.”
NXNE, June 2001

The journey for Montreal’s glo started on a midsummer’s night some years ago when three friends, disenchanted with the 9 to 5 drab of their everyday lives, decided to shake things up.

Legend has it the lads were drowning their sorrows at their favorite watering hole when the idea came:

“I know, slurred vocalist-to-be Rick in a rare moment of clarity, let’s quit our day jobs and become rock stars…”

Six months after that fated night, the world got their first taste of glo as Montreal’s leading rock station CHOM FM premiered the band’s debut effort on Made in Canada.

Soon after the album’s release, the band struck a licensing deal with the people at S.L Feldman & Associates (who have managed acts such as Bryan Adams and Sarah McLachlan), that saw their first single, Wither, featured on the soundtrack for the TV series Higher Ground.

The show, which aired in the US, Canada, and in Europe, brought the band some international exposure and notoriety that went straight to their heads.

“I’m going to buy brand new sticks with that first royalty check!” states drummer Patrick excitedly.

The band’s second single, Drown in me, continues to get airplay in parts of Canada and the US.

“Yup, we’re HUGE in Loon River…HUGE,” beams guitarist Eddie, I hear album sales have reached double digits there.”

In support of the album glo has been performing incessantly, thrilling audiences wherever they pass.

Based on the strength of their songwriting and their energetic live shows, the band was invited to showcase at the NXNE 2001 conference in Toronto, Canada’s annual music festival that features some of the world’s best new artists.

A promotional stop in the UK, at Manchester’s renowned “In The City” music festival, was also a recent highlight.

Currently, the band is in studio completing the recording of their highly anticipated sophomore effort.

Lyrics of Their Songs

1) One Last Kiss

Word came down on me today
Something’s wrong, something’s going to change

For crimes of youth I’ll have to pay
Though innocent they be, it’s all the same

I’m fading like a cigarette
One last breath before I’m laid to rest

Tonight, relate to me, you’ll wait for me
Tonight, remember me
as I’ll remember you

They showed you down to where I lay
Nothing said, no words need be exchanged

Tonight, relate to me, you’ll wait for me
Tonight, remember me
as I’ll remember you

One last kiss, one last reprieve
One last wish before, I have to leave

Don’t you cry, no don’t you cry
Consider this farewell and not goodbye

relate to me you’ll wait for me
Tonight, remember me, remember me
This life, it’s too late for me
Too late

2) Drown in me

“Don’t you let go”
I suppose I should
I’m not where I want to be
’cause nothing’s right
nothing’s quite for me

And I wonder
where I go from here
Seemingly so clear to see
for everyone,
anyone but me

I’m sinking faster than I ever thought I could
Please send me someone just like me

“So drown in me,
a kindred soul to be your PFD

Still you wonder
what has led me here
Stealing thunder
from underneath your last frontier
Well just like you my thoughts are not so clear

I’m sinking faster than I ever thought
I could be heaven sent
Don’t go my friend, don’t leave my hand
Tonight I finally found that someone’s just like me”

So drown in me…

3) P.O.V.

I tasted all your secrets
and swallowed all your juices
They left my insides upset
and antidotes are useless
You closed your eyes and listened
as I opened up my mouth and
out slipped your mother’s tongue
Still judged me for where I came from

And so it goes
“Another day begins anew
forget the red, live white and blue
I promise there’ll be room for you
as long as you share my point of view”
Says who?

I need you more than ever
but all I want you sever
You’re killing yourself too…
the loss of me is the death of you

And so it blows
“Another day begins anew
forget the red, live white and blue
I promise there’ll be room for you
as long as you share my point of view”
Says who? Says you? Not true

You say we’ll never stand as one
as long as you are there
I never say never
but even as I dream the dream,
I fear it all will come undone
in a final blaze of glory
and I’ll be left without a home…
